Hogan has sure hands

Chris Hogan has sure hands. The Carolina Panthers are getting someone that is able to see the ball and possess the ball. Last season for the New England Patriots, he proved to be a great supplementary weapon on an offense that was filled with talent. His best game of the season was statistically in week to against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In that game, he caught three passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Per statistics from Pro Football Focus, Hogan had a 78.5 fumble rating. When he is able to catch and run with the football, defenders will have a hard time getting it out of his hands. This will do wonders for a Carolina Panthers offense that needs a dependable receiver. It’s not that the receivers they have on the roster right now aren’t dependable, but Hogan has a particular knack to be able to stretch the field and make a play. That will certainly be welcome with a quarterback that has tremendous arm strength like Cam Newton.

It will be quite a contrast from a player like Devin Funchess who had trouble hanging onto the ball at times last season. There is no doubt that Funchess was a great receiver for several years during his time in Carolina. He just could not seem to reel in passes at times. I am not saying Hogan will be the next Funchess. What I am saying is that it will be nice to have someone that is a bit more sure-handed in the receiver arsenal.
