Week 1 – vs. Los Angeles Rams

Since 2008 Carolina has always seen the reigning NFC champions on their schedule and this year is no different. Fortunately, it comes at home as the Panthers open up play inside Bank of America Stadium for the second year in a row.

After starting on the road in each of Rivera’s first seven seasons, Carolina was granted a home opener last year – defeating the Dallas Cowboys 16-8. Home games bookend this season with the Panthers hosting New Orleans in Week 17.

A test against the Rams to open the year should provide a preview into what this Panthers team will be capable of throughout the year. It’s only one game, but beginning with a win – regardless of the margin – would help eliminate any fears of a hangover from last season.
