Week 2 – vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 6 – at Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London

Every game on the NFL schedule counts the same but divisional rivalries always seem to carry more weight. Typically, the back end of Carolina’s regular season schedule has been loaded with divisional opponents and while this remains true for games against the Falcons and Saints – four games over the final seven weeks – the Buccaneers get finished up early.

First, the only prime time (barring any late season flex changes) game for the Panthers comes four days after their season starts on Thursday night. Staying at home is an advantage but the potential to be either 2-0 or 0-2 over a five day span to begin 2019 is a double-edged sword.

A franchise first international game takes place in Week 6 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against these same Buccaneers, replacing a trip to Tampa Bay. Grabbing two wins against a divisional rival would be great but dealing with the distractions of playing abroad could be tricky. Fortunately, only two players, Demar Dotson and Gerald McCoy, remain from the Buccaneers last time overseas.
