The Carolina Panthers full preseason schedule has been determined.

Spring is here and while the NFL regular season remains five months away, the recent schedule release and upcoming draft has fans excited for next year. Without any games to be played, speculation on free agent acquisitions and who teams will select when on the clock later this month serves to keep followers entertained and those of the Carolina Panthers are no different.

Leading up to the NFL Draft, scheduled for April 25-27 in Nashville, Tennessee – the complete regular season schedule was recently announced, in addition to the annual kickoff game and other prime time matchups. Lost in the announcements were the official dates and times for each team’s preseason games.

The Panthers announced their schedule of games that will take place this August. Filled with familiar faces, there is one stark contrast to the previous seasons of Carolina warm up games.

For the first time in five years, the Panthers face a conference opponent when they open play in Chicago on Thursday, August 8 at 8pm. It is only the fourth time these two franchises have met in preseason play but the Bears finished last year 12-4 and should provide a solid first test.

Next the Buffalo Bills visit Bank of America Stadium on August 16 at 7pm, after Carolina traveled last season. This meeting serves as a reunion for many former Panthers, especially coach Sean McDermott who was previously the defensive coordinator in Carolina.

In the always critical game three, a road trip to New England scheduled for August 22 (7:30pm) awaits, where traditionally NFL starting units see their most action. Facing the reigning Super Bowl champions with three consecutive appearances and titles in the last five years, fans should be provided a good glimpse of what the year may have in store.
