The Carolina Panthers will give fans a chance to see what goes on during the Draft on Thursday.

Have you ever wanted to see what the Carolina Panthers draft room is like? Now, you will have a chance. As the NFL Draft kicks off Thursday, the Carolina Panthers will have a camera inside their War Room courtesy of  NFL Network. The organization will be one of 23 teams to have a camera placed in a spot where all the tough decisions are made.

As noted in the pre-draft press conference by general manager Marty Hurney, Panthers owner David Tepper is very much a hands-on owner when it comes to the NFL Draft. The cameras will give the fans a chance to see what Tepper is able to do behind the scenes. I like the fact that the owner is going to be so involved with the draft. Normally, I would be wary of the fact the owner is so involved and I would be a little nervous about it. However, with this being Tepper’s first draft, we haven’t really gotten a chance to see how he has evaluated the upcoming talent.

Being a part of the Steelers organization, you have to think he knows what it takes to win. This could be a huge draft for the owner as the Panthers are undergoing a little bit of a rebuild in terms of some spots defensively. You can bet Panthers fans will be watching the War Room cameras closely. Particularly when the 16th pick comes along, Panthers fans should be glued to the edge of their seats. I personally wasn’t thrilled that the Panthers got the 16th pick, but because the draft is so deep, I have warmed up to it a little.

Hurney says that just like the rest of the staff, Tepper is very much looking forward to his chance at helping improve the Panthers.

"“He’s dropped in on our meetings with the scouts, with coaches, and I think he’s got a really good feel for how things go,” said Hurney. “His decision-making process is remarkable: He’s just got such common sense, he’s got intellect, he’s got people skills, and he’s just a very good communicator.“He’s like all of us: This is a fun time of year. You’re going in, and you have a chance to improve your football team. We put a lot of work into this and there’s a lot of attention put on it, especially for the personnel people, but even coaches, this is one of the most-exciting times of the year you come across in this business.”"

Truthfully, this is fun for everybody, fans included. With such a deep draft this year, it will be fun to see where some of the biggest names in college football end up. I know I will be watching closely, and will be certainly hoping for the best.
