Receiving  Yards

Christian McCaffrey was undoubtedly the leader on the receiving end for the Panthers as well. With 107 receptions, he led the team by a wide margin in that category. In addition, he led the team with 867 receiving yards as well. This year, I think it’s going to be a little bit different. DJ Moore should be the leader at receiver this year for Carolina.

Moore was second-leading receiver on the team. He caught 55 passes for 788 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per catch. With 3.4 receptions per game, he had the highest reception amount of any receiver. I see the offense being more receiver-friendly in 2019. We know Norv Turner likes to use the running backs, but with the developed weapons that are available to the Carolina Panthers, they should look to the wideouts more. Moore has tremendous playmaking capability, and he is very shifty and difficult to bring down. I do not expect that to change next year.

This is the year that I can see the former Maryland product make a huge leap. He certainly has the talent to do so, and he showed glimpses of that last year. Look no further than his seven-catch, 157-yard game against the Detroit Lions in November. He was truly a nightmare for defenses, averaging 22.43 yards per reception. I expect more of the same in 2019, and perhaps with one year under his belt, he can become one of the top receivers in the division.
