Carolina Panthers: Greg Little taking right approach as rookie
The Carolina Panthers tackle wants to work as hard as possible.
Before we talk a couple of times now about how the Carolina Panthers 2019 rookie class seems to have the mentality of wanting to work hard and doing whatever it takes to help the team. Offensive tackle Greg Little is no different. Speaking to the media on Saturday, his comments reflect that.

It’s interesting to see how much sure many of these rookies have been in their comments to the media. As rookie camp is in full swing, we are getting a better idea of what the personalities of the players are. Little seems very humble and willing to do whatever it takes to win. That is the type of player you want on your team. Together, this class should be able to make an impact this season. As for now however, Little just wants to come out and make an impact for the team. Not only that, he is used to the high expectations that have been thrust upon him so far.
Ron Rivera is impressed with how Little has been working. This is certainly a good sign, as I viewed him as a project pick for the Carolina Panthers. However, he is the type of player that does not need a ton of work. Rather, I think he just needs to get some fundamentals down and the rookie mini-camp is a great way to help him start doing so. So far, he is doing everything the right way.
"“He’s paying attention to a lot of things. He sees a lot of things, and he’s trying to stay involved. Which I think is great,” said Rivera. “That means he wants to learn, and is trying to learn quickly. That’s a huge plus.”"
As Little himself has said, he wants to earn his spot. He is certainly going to have to being a rookie. However, the fact that he is a tackle certainly gives him a leg up on the competition given that the position was not that strong last year. Nevertheless, is going to be a proverbial dogfight from now until the season starts in September.
"“It just adds to the list,” said Little. “I’ve still (got to) come (out) here and work, earn my job, earn the respect of the older guys. I’m not looking for any handouts. I’m trying to come here and earn it.”"
I am excited to see what he can do. I think little will be a player that can man the offensive line for years to come. First, he has to sign his rookie contract but that should not be a problem. Now, he is just willing to earn and work for a spot on the team. That is certainly a good start in my book.
