Running Back (4)

Christian McCaffrey, Cameron Artis-Payne, Elijah Holyfield, Alex Armah

No question Christian McCaffrey continues to be the workhorse for the Panthers moving forward but the battle behind him is expected to be intense. After not making any significant moves during the free agency period, it seems the team has organized a strong group of candidates to fill some reserve roles and compete on special teams.

Cameron Artis-Payne holds a significant advantage due to his work history and familiarity with the scheme but has yet to receive any strong consideration, other than backup and injury forced work. Even still, he seems to always perform in the preseason and again earns a position.

With Alex Armah filling the role of a fullback, the remaining candidates need to impress in order to set themselves apart. Despite going undrafted, Elijah Holyfield rises to the top earning the final spot behind McCaffrey.
