Carolina Panthers can begin breaking ground on practice facility
The Carolina Panthers took another major step forward.
The Carolina Panthers can now begin their goal towards a new practice facility. According to multiple media reports, the South Carolina General Assembly passed a bill which gave the Carolina Panthers $115 million in tax discounts for moving to Rock Hill, South Carolina. What this means is a new set of facilities for the Panthers moving forward.
200 acres of land in Rock Hill and breaking ground this year on the facilities are just some of the highlights of this process. Carolina plans to move into their new facility by 2022. Not to worry though, they still will play their home games at Bank of America Stadium.

This new practice is ability is huge for the organization. It will be somewhere that they can call home, and fulfill a goal that owner David Tepper has had for years. Now, players will not have to go far at all to get treatment and be around team offices. It may not seem like a tremendously big deal, but it is when talking about team culture. Now, the players will be able to have a place to practice, bond with their teammates, and work out all in one.
Moreover, it’s a place where the Panthers can call home. Although Wofford will be missed, this is an important step for the organization as it furthers team identity. It truly sounds like everything will be happening there. According to multiple media reports, an orthopedic sports medicine facility, hotel, corporate headquarters, offices, and houses are all on the table for the building process. To me, this isn’t just a football facility. It’s almost like a football village.
I like it, as to me this sounds like a place that’s just more for football. It is a place for everybody involved with the Carolina Panthers can gather and live their lives. To me this goes back to what Tepper talked about when he was first hired in creating a transparent, family environment. This certainly is a huge step in regards to that. I can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like as I think it could create a blueprint for what other teams could do down the road.
It is finally happening. The Carolina Panthers practice facility looks like it is in good shape to become a reality. All things considered, the timetable for its opening is very soon. This is just another step in the turnaround of the brand that has occurred for the Carolina Panthers over the past year. To me, all these changes are positive ones.
