McCoy just wants to win football games

Gerald McCoy just wants to win. He made it very clear that his press conference on Tuesday, and that mentality should fit very well in this organization. Especially after a 7-9 season last year, winning should be the goal of every single member of the Carolina Panthers.

It’s refreshing to see that winning is still his main priority. Having been on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning has not been a thing over the past couple of seasons. That should allow for him to be hungry and want to at least get to the playoffs. Having him in the fold should automatically make the defense better, and I’ll be curious to see where he fits in terms of scheme. Wherever he is placed, he should be able to make an impact. He admires the Carolina Panthers resiliency and the fact that it finds ways to win.

“This organization is known for its ability to be resilient, and just find a way to win,” said McCoy. “Even in tough times, they just always had a history of finding a way to push through and fight through. I just wanted to be a part of that.”

I wonder how many good seasons he has left. Hopefully, he will have a good season this year with the Carolina Panthers. I fully believe he still has a ton left in the tank, and that he will be able to help the line tremendously. Signing a one-year deal, this is a low-risk, high-reward signing. I truly believe it will pay dividends. Especially in the Carolina Panthers organization, that winning mentality will get you places.
