The Carolina Panthers tight end might be giving us a preview into life after football.

Greg Olsen may be in a broadcast booth after all, but not in the way you think. According to multiple media reports, Fox Sports wants the Carolina Panthers tight end in the broadcast booth during the Panthers bye week.

The Carolina Panthers bye week is slated to be in Week Seven. It comes following a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London, and right before the team travels to California to face the San Francisco 49ers. Between the two games of intense travel, this week of relaxation could not come at a more perfect time.

This is a rather interesting situation as you don’t normally see current players in a broadcast booth. Although the situation may be unique, it could give us some insight into what Olsen’s future may be down the road. You may recall that several networks were asking for his broadcasting services while he was still deciding if he would continue his football career. Now, it appears that he has a shot at it.

This is an extremely unique opportunity, and one that he should definitely take if available. He is getting to the point in his career where he has to think about life after football. This is nothing to be ashamed of either. He has had a very successful career and has accomplished many things. Now for Olsen, it is all about taking the next step and seeing what other avenues the game of football can bring to him. I think he would be very entertaining to listen to in a broadcast booth.

I’ll be interested to see where he is hired once he decides to hang up the cleats. I could definitely see him in a broadcast booth. He would bring a unique boost to any broadcast booth he would decide to go to. He has tremendous football knowledge, and certainly has enough experience to be able to tell the viewers what life between the lines is like. Maybe, he will try something different altogether. I certainly can’t fault him for that.

Whatever the case may be, it sounds like he is in prime position to land a broadcasting role. His duties during the bye week would certainly be a nice start to broadcasting. It would give fans a chance to hear Greg Olsen, the announcer. I think he would be very successful there and will represent the Carolina Panthers well. It will certainly be an exciting time for Carolina Panthers and NFL fans alike.
