Carolina Panthers: Brian Burns given favorable Madden rating
The Carolina Panthers rookie should make an impact in the virtual world.
The Madden 20 rookie ratings came out on Monday, and several Carolina Panthers were given favorable marks. Will Grier was ranked especially high, and another Carolina Panthers player was thought of highly in the eyes of the EA Sports Team.
Defensive end Brian Burns is set to make his Madden debut with a bang. Burns is rated 75 overall. He has several attributes that will make him tough to guard offensively. Particularly with how Madden has seemed to make the defensive players much stronger this year, he could be quite an asset for players, especially as a rookie.

With a 73 awareness rating, that is certainly a little lower than expected. However, the rest of his ratings make up for it. His speed is an 88 rating, which for a defensive player is very good. His acceleration is a 91, while his agility is an 86. His strength is a 76 overall rating, but I would expect that to increase as the season progresses. Overall, it looks like he will be a very good pass rusher and one that gamers will have to plan around offensively. I personally can’t complain about his ratings, they did a good job with them.
With Madden looking to make the game more true to life than ever before, they did Burns justice here. He is slated to be that game-changing pass rusher that the Carolina Panthers are looking to have. He has tremendous speed and agility, and his acceleration is evident when he gets into the offensive backfield. With his desire to learn from some of the veterans on the team, that should only be able to help him become an even better player.
I’ll be interested to see how he plays in the game. My guess is that he will be a player that can bully offensive lineman, and one that will use his speed to get around defenders. With the way that Madden has scaled the ratings, a 75 overall rating is very good for a rookie. Hopefully, he will be able to have an impact both in the video game and in real life. He has the makings to be very successful, now he just needs to be able to put in the work and execute. He has made it clear that he wants to do so, so I have no doubt that he will be able to be a staple of the Carolina Panthers defense for years to come.
