239.8

This is a very odd number, there is no doubt about it. However, it is also a noteworthy number. 239.8 was the amount of passing yards the Carolina Panthers threw per contest last season. Obviously, the hope is to at the very least equal that number. I expect it to increase in 2019. This, of course is dependent upon whether his shoulder will be ready to go.

Cam Newton now has a bunch of different weapons and interesting scenarios to put in play. From a new acquisition in wide receiver Chris Hogan to starring roles for Curtis Samuel and DJ Moore, Newton has a lot to work with this year. Let’s not forget about Christian McCaffrey, who did a ton of great work as a receiver out of the backfield in 2018.

He also has a different offensive line than he did last year. This one is more stable, and should allow him to stand in the pocket and relax and make his reads. I could see him eclipsing this yardage mark. Again it is all dependent upon if he is at full strength by the time the season starts. If he is, it could be a long year for defenses.
