15 sacks

This undoubtedly is the top record for the Carolina Panthers that can be broken this upcoming season. On a stout defensive line, there’s one player in particular that I think could do it. Mario Addison has shown he has the capability to get sacks at a consistent rate, especially over the last two seasons.

Kevin Greene held the single-season record in 1998 with 15 sacks on the year. It is still an impressive number that holds up today.

In 2017, he had 11 sacks on the year. In 2018, he had 9.5 sacks on the season. He is a monster when it comes to getting up to the quarterback, and I don’t see that changing in the fall. Especially in this defense, which should allow him to play more freely, I see him being able to dominate offensive lines. Sure, there are a lot of players on the defensive line that could break this record. However, he has been able to record large numbers at a consistent pace. it seems like he is able to heat up early, and put together strong performances at the beginning of the season.

If Addison could do that, he would undoubtedly be adding a tremendous contribution to what is an already stout defensive line. I could see him being a huge factor this year.
