15.5 yards per catch

Willie Green holds the highest receiving average in Carolina Panthers history with 15.5 yards. There has been a strong collection of receivers at the position ever since the franchise’s inception. That is no exception this year, as both D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel look to give the offense a spark.

Moore had a 14.3 yards per catch average last year, finishing the year with 55 receptions for 788 yards. Now a second-year player, he figures to have an even bigger role in the offense. His playmaking ability and ability to stretch the field should allow him to attempt to break the record. Assuming the situation is okay at the quarterback position, Moore should be in line for a great year.

Before Moore and Samuel came to town, the Carolina Panthers were missing a deep threat. Now, they have that. He should be able to eclipse Green’s record. That is something not even the great Steve Smith Senior could do. This would be another great accomplishment on a resume that is growing steadily for the former Maryland star.
