The Carolina Panthers quarterback will do whatever it takes to win.

You hear all the time about competitive windows in sports, and how each one can close relatively quickly for either a certain player or certain team. It’s inevitable in sports. Players only have a certain shelf life to do things and they have a certain amount of time to accomplish it with a group that is willing to get them to their goals. Heading into the 2019 season, at least one member of the Carolina Panthers is conscientious of it.

Quarterback Cam Newton knows that the game can be rather fickle and opportunistic. After the injuries he has dealt with over the last year, it is certainly coming into sharp focus for him. A veteran on a team full of youth, Newton heads into the 2019 season with a bit of uncertainty. How will his shoulder heal? Can he have a better year than last year? Will he be able to play at all? Those are just some of the things that are probably running through his mind. I can’t blame him, he has dealt with a lot over the past couple of seasons and he certainly does not want to miss the window of opportunity with this Panthers roster.

All Or Nothing has been very interesting so far especially given the fact that we know what transpired last season. The Carolina Panthers obviously did not get the results they wanted. Instead, they, quite frankly, fell flat on their faces. Now they will be looking to change that in the 2019 season. With so much talent in the National Football League, that is going to be easier said than done. However, the Carolina Panthers have enough talent of their own to do it.

It was interesting to hear Cam Newton’s comments, as he seems to get the concept that the NFL dream does not last long. With what he said in a recent episode, he gets that the time to win is right now.

"“In this league, it comes … Like, you have a small window to accomplish certain things. And who knows? Are we still in that window? Who knows? No one knows. But I for damn sure know that when it comes to me and my preparation, I will always be ready. And I know every game won’t be no lights-out game offensively where we put up 40 points or whatever and the defense, man, I just shut them out. But, you know, you just have to go into each and every game prepared to uphold your end of the bargain.”"

I certainly like that quote from him. He knows he is not going to be on his game every single time game day rolls around. He is holding himself accountable, and that is a trait of a true leader. It’s maybe not something we would have seen from him a couple of years ago. I agree with all the points he is making.

It will be interesting to see if he is healthy enough to start 2019. I think he will be, and I’m predicting a big year from him. When he is on his game, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League. He is truly an incredible talent.
