Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is taking his offseason training to the next level.

As running back Christian McCaffrey prepares for his third NFL season after being selected in the first-round of the NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, he’s making some adjustments. Relied on considerably more last season, especially after quarterback Cam Newton was injured, the workload for McCaffrey is expected to be about the same this year.

Able to attack opposing defenses from the backfield, slot, through the air and on the ground, it is McCaffrey’s versatility that makes him an essential part of the offense. Coupled with offensive coordinator Norv Turner and Newton in the backfield, the options are seemingly endless for the variety of ways in which Carolina can move the football.

The two have already been selected as the best running back tandem in the league, provided Newton is healthy, and McCaffrey has set some lofty goals of his own for 2019. After a promising start during his sophomore campaign, the Panthers faltered down the stretch – dropping seven straight – and ultimately finishing with a losing record and missing the playoffs.

In order to prepare for this season, McCaffrey has been spinning out of control at the Neuraperformance Brain Center in Denver, Colorado. Specializing in brain health, recovery and performance, the exercise/machine is used to improve his decision making and balance – both important components to being a ball carrier in the NFL.

McCaffrey has been making highlight reel worthy plays since his Pop Warner days and if his first two professional seasons are any indication, there will be plenty more to come. After spinning out of control while learning to control his thought process, in addition to actively locating targets despite being inverted, completing a full flip during an attempted tackle while carrying the football and landing on his feet without ever losing a step seems inevitable.

And when it happens, don’t be surprised – he’s prepared.
