The first official depth chart for the Carolina Panthers was released on Sunday.

The first unofficial depth chart was released on Sunday as the Carolina Panthers enter game week for the preseason. There were a lot of surprises on the depth chart as a bunch of names got shuffled around. Especially in the preseason, this is the time when the Panthers want to see who else is on the team. Carolina  has an idea of what the veterans are going to do, now they want to know what kind of depth they have.

Carolina certainly has a fair amount of depth this year. That is not necessarily something they could say last season. There are tremendous amounts of youth at some positions, and also a ton of veteran leadership at others. This is a very balanced team. That balance should be able to benefit Carolina in the long run. They are in a unique position where they can continue to build for the future, while they try to win right now. The NFC South is a very talented division, and it is certainly up for grabs. The Carolina Panthers want to make sure they are in that position to succeed. Hopefully, that will be able to lead them to the playoffs in January.

I take a look at some interesting observations on the Panthers unofficial depth chart.
