Tre Boston is a starter

Tre Boston is the starting free safety according to this depth chart. Playing behind him would be Ross Cockrell and Colin Jones. It’s interesting that he is already pegged as the starter at the position. Given the fact that he just got to Carolina a couple of days ago, this makes it even more of a curious move. I get that this is an unofficial depth chart, but I can certainly see him staying there.

His track record, especially recently, has been a positive one. He is known as a ball hawk. Recording 11 interceptions in 72 games of play over a span of five years, those are certainly impressive numbers. Last year with the Arizona Cardinals, he put together a solid season. Record the three interceptions, nine pass deflections , and 79 total tackles, he was an all-around beast at the safety position for the team. The Carolina Panthers could certainly use those ball-hawking type skills.

Again, I get that this is an unofficial depth chart, however, it would be quite the rise for a player just signed to be named the starter at the safety position. He would bring a tremendous element to the secondary, and combined with a guy like Donte Jackson, the two would be a quarterback’s worst nightmare. We will have to see if he stays at the top of the starting free safety position, or if that changes in the coming weeks. For his sake, I hope nothing changes.
