Chris Hogan

Chris Hogan undoubtedly has the most to gain this preseason. He has a track record of success coming from New England. Now, he needs to continue that trend in Carolina. Currently, he is listed at the second spot on the depth chart at the left wide receiver position.

Hogan comes into a receivers room that at least has familiarity with each other from last year. Between Curtis Samuel, D.J. Moore, and Jarius Wright, these guys have all had at least a year in the system already. The fact that Hogan is at the second spot on the depth chart says a lot about what the Carolina Panthers think of him.

Hogan played well in New England. Recording 1, 651 yards and 12 touchdowns in three seasons with the Patriots, he always seemed to be a dependable target when called upon. His nickname was “7-11” , because he was always open. That was the case in New England, and I wonder if he will be the same type of player for Carolina.

He definitely has a lot to gain. Being the newcomer in the wide receivers room, he is at a bit of a disadvantage. However, he should be able to get up to speed in no time. He certainly has the talent to be a successful player for the Carolina Panthers. A strong showing in the preseason will definitely help his case with both his new quarterbacks and fellow wide receivers.
