Turnover Margin

Everyone seems to always talk about how winning the turnover battle can correlate to winning football games and it does have some merit. The same can also be said of how this evolves over the course of an entire season and if Carolina wants to achieve a return to the playoffs they need to create takeaways while protecting the football on offense.

In 2018, the top-seven teams in turnover margin each made the playoffs. Creating additional opportunities for the offense to score points, or getting on the board by virtue of a turnover can both swing the momentum in a single game and more of these opportunities over an entire year helps win more games.

If the Panthers revamped defensive front can help to create some pressure, hopefully they can force mistakes and opposing teams into giving up the football. If so, then Carolina could be playoff bound.
