There is a lot to watch for in the Carolina Panthers first preseason game.

The Carolina Panthers are set to play the Chicago Bears in what is the preseason opener. Although the likes of Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly will not play, the Panthers should feel very confident going into this preseason game. They have a ton of depth, something that should be on display Thursday night. This is the beginning of a difficult process for several members of the team as they try to make the roster. Especially for the undrafted free agent signings and the rookies, this is their chance to leave their mark.

The Carolina Panthers have a lot of potential at many positions. Potential can only get you so far, and Thursday night will be the first time that we see if the potential of some can translate to the National Football League. Even though it may not be the best football around, it is still football.

It’s hard to believe that the 2019 season is almost underway. It seems like just yesterday the New England Patriots were Super Bowl champions. The Carolina Panthers certainly would love to hoist a Lombardi trophy of their own come February.

I take a look at three things to watch in Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Bears.
