The Carolina Panthers were able to secure the big victory.

The Carolina Panthers had a great first preseason game, defeating the Chicago Bears by a 23-13 score. They played well in many facets of the game. At the very least, it was a great starting point, as the Carolina Panthers look to turn the page on last season. So far, so good. For what it’s worth, the Carolina Panthers certainly passed the eye test on  Thursday.

For some players, it was about ironing out the nerves. For others, it was more a refresher of things they learned last year. For others, particularly the rookies, it was a chance to show what they can do. Let me say that some rookies made a tremendous first impression. It was nice to see, as the Carolina Panthers need depth at several positions.

Without further ado, I take a look at three players who really made their mark on Thursday. In particular, it was some of the more unheralded names that stepped up and made plays. That was great to see. That is exactly what the preseason is for, and especially for this group, it is all about development.
