Reggie Bonnafon, RB

Running back Reggie Bonnafon performed well enough during last year’s preseason finale to earn a position on the Carolina practice squad. Throughout this preseason he’s displayed a firm understanding of the offense and ability to catch passes out of the backfield – a strong trait for offensive coordinator Norv Turner. However, the Panthers also have a proven back-up to Christian McCaffrey in Cameron Artis-Payne and two rookie prospects with which he is fighting for a position.

In this final preseason contest, expect to see Bonnafon in addition to the rookie duo of Elijah Holyfield and Jordan Scarlett. Through the first three games, Bonnafon has 137 total yards (44 rushing, 93 receiving) on 19 touches. Behind McCaffrey and Artis-Payne, another running back is likely to make the initial 53 and Bonnafon can help his case with a strong performance Thursday night.
