The Carolina Panthers won a wild game on Thursday night.

The Carolina Panthers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in what was a wild preseason game. With both teams sending in their reserves to see what they had for depth, this was certainly an interesting game. It was fun to watch because both sides left it all out on the field. These guys knew that their jobs were on the line, and many of them showed up to play.

In what was a very spirited preseason game, Carolina showed a lot of good things on the field. The game didn’t start great at all. However, Carolina hung in and finished the job to conclude the preseason nicely. Particularly defensively, there were a lot of things I really liked. The offense got the job done and it was a gritty, team-earned win. In a preseason that hasn’t exactly gone smoothly, this was a reaffirmation that Carolina can still compete at a high level.

I take a look at my three big takeaways from Carolina’s win over the Steelers.
