After a close Week 1 loss, the Carolina Panthers look to rebound on Thursday night against the Buccaneers.

Altogether the Carolina Panthers played well against the defending NFC champion, Los Angeles Rams. They just weren’t able to make a few key plays to win the game. The team fell short by a final score of 30-27.

The offense was led by running back Christian McCaffrey who had over 200 total yards (128 rushing and 81 receiving) and two touchdowns. Quarterback Cam Newton had a mediocre game completing 25-of-38 passes for 239 yards. He also threw one interception.

Carolina’s defense was able to keep the Rams’ high powered passing attack in check by only giving up 186 passing yards to opposing quarterback Jared Goff. They were not as effective against the run. All-Pro running back Todd Gurley rushed for 97 yards and backup running back Malcolm Brown scored two touchdowns against the Panthers defense.

Carolina now enters a short week against the Buccaneers with more questions than answers about the identity of this team.

Read on to see what questions the team needs to address in Week 2 to get their first win of the young season.
