It’s Still Early

Only three of 16 games have been played. Not only is there time remaining for Newton to fully heal and return but there’s still plenty of chances to win. An 0-2 start didn’t help, but backup quarterback Kyle Allen already proved the Panthers can compete with him on the field.

This week’s matchup against Houston will give fans a better understanding of how this team is positioned for an extended stretch but the schedule is favorable. Win or lose against the Texans, Carolina returns home for a game against the Jaguars before traveling to London for a rematch with the Buccaneers.

Divisional wins will be key, especially after losing the first contest but if Allen and the Panthers enter their bye week anywhere from 2-4 to 4-2 then they’ll face a 10 week run to make the playoffs – plenty of time.
