Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers

After finally stringing together a couple wins, can the Carolina Panthers continue their success riding a hot defense?

Something has felt very different about this Carolina Panthers (2-2) team. I’m not saying they feel like a team of destiny or any other cliche you can think of, but they feel … competent.

When your pass rush is clicking, everything else seems to fall into place. More turnovers are caused, giving the offense better and increased opportunities to put points up. Additional sacks can absolutely wreck a nice drive at any given moment.

Not only is the defense flying around, but this special teams unit has already blocked THREE punts and have broken a few exciting returns.

There is something here.

A platform to build on led by a strong group of veterans, peppered with younger players who present sky high potential. As the great Michael Jordan once said, “the ceiling is the roof” with this squad.

If they can get another win this Sunday, the league may be put on notice. Here’s who I will be watching closely.
