Jackson is an asset to the Carolina Panthers secondary.

Unlike the past couple of weeks, the Carolina Panthers injury report for Friday brought some good news. The Panthers are going to get some key reinforcements back, just in time for a big game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Among those key reinforcements is cornerback Donte Jackson. He is undoubtedly a huge part of the secondary, and he is going to come back just in time for a 49ers team that features many weapons at wideout. The Carolina Panthers will get their first look at  Emmanuel Sanders and as always, Marquise Goodwin should present a matchup problem. This game will be no walk in the park for any facet of the Carolina Panthers defense. This 49ers team is undefeated for a reason. Hopefully, the Panthers can give the 49ers their first loss of the season.

On the season, Jackson has 14 tackles and two interceptions. He has returned both interceptions for a combined 25 yards.

There is no denying that he brings a ton of energy to the secondary. We saw that last year. As a rookie, he provided a huge spark for the team. Now as a second-year player, he appears to be doing the same. On top of the spark that he brings, it is nice that the defensive unit is playing better as a whole.

This is a game where the Carolina Panthers need every single player to be healthy. They need all hands on deck. Both the 49ers and the Panthers come into this game playing extremely solid football. Jackson’s physicality and ability to play well in man coverage will undoubtedly be assets to this defense. There are going to need to make sure they keep the San Francisco 49ers wide receivers in front of them if they want to succeed.

Jackson coming back should undoubtedly help the Carolina Panthers tremendously. As playoff pictures begin to come into focus, these next couple of games are going to be important for the Carolina Panthers. Jackson will undoubtedly be a part of that. I can’t wait to see how he progresses over the next couple of weeks.
