The 2013 season for Carolina was a memorable one as Newton won double-digit regular season games (12) in route to his first playoff appearance. After starting 1-3, the Panthers used a visit to Minnesota and dominate performance by Newton as a catalyst to win eight in a row and 11 of their final 12 for a divisional title.

In one of his best performances since being a rookie (2011), Newton accounted for four total touchdowns – one rushing. Missing on just six pass attempts, the Panthers quarterback completed 20 passes for 242 yards, was sacked just once and didn’t have an interception.

Taking a commanding 14-3 lead into halftime, Newton picked up right where he left off on the third play of the third quarter with a 79-yard touchdown strike to Brandon LaFell down the right side. Another touchdown followed on the ensuing possession and Carolina enjoyed the 35-10 win.
