Earlier in the 2015 season, Newton tied the franchise record for passing touchdowns with five against Washington and he replicated that feat in this historic matchup. Undefeated (11-0), Carolina entered the Superdome and a tough test against the Saints.

Down 14-0 early, the Panthers rallied in a game that would feature six-lead changes, an interception, sack and sideline concussion testing for Newton after a third-quarter hit. Getting the ball back, down four with 5:12 to play, Newton led an 11-play touchdown drive ending with a 15-yard Jerricho Cotchery reception to put Carolina on top for good.

The defense held in the final minute securing a 41-38 win and Newton’s 331 yard, five touchdown effort a place in history.
