Question 3: Can the Panthers beat a top NFC opponent

The last time the Panthers got a crack at one of the top teams in the NFC was two weeks ago against the 49ers. That obviously didn’t go well as Carolina lost 51-13.

This week they get a shot at redemption against the 7-2 Packers. The NFC is absolutely stacked this season, so it will be a good matchup to see just where the Panthers stand in the conference.

It seems like just about every division has at least two legitimate playoff contenders.

The NFC East has the 5-3 Dallas Cowboys and 5-4 Philadelphia Eagles.

The NFC North has the 7-2 Packers and 6-3 Minnesota Vikings.

The NFC South has the 7-1 New Orleans Saints and the Panthers who are 5-3.

The NFC West has the 8-0 49ers and the 7-2 Seattle Seahawks. Not to mention last year’s NFC Champion Los Angeles Rams who are at 5-3 coming off a bye.

That makes a total of nine teams competing for six playoff spots. If the Panthers are going to take that next step and move into the playoff conversation, then they have to find a way to beat the Packers on Sunday.
