Now what?

Now the Panthers don’t have to worry about making the playoffs. Even if they could they wouldn’t stand a chance against the best the NFC has to offer. Now is the time to start planning for moves that need to be made this offseason. At the beginning of the season the roster was fairly solid, but now they know what they’ll get out of most of the core. They need to focus on growth. Not rebuilding, but growth.

Plenty of teams have a worse record than we do, and they are looking at us thinking about what pieces they can pick up from our crumbling kingdom. Little do they know that the only thing practically guaranteed to change will be something that nobody wants.

With that in mind, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Panthers to start eyeing some improvements to fill in gaps on the roster before the draft. They’ve already gone through sporadic signings in the wake of injuries and underperformance this season. It would be prudent to use the last month as auditions for next season.
