Is Cam leaving too?

In an article published by Ian Rappoport,  speculation began that the Panthers are expected  to actively seek a trade for Newton during the upcoming offseason in exchange for appropriate remuneration. The same person who lead the 2015 Panthers to the Super Bowl and won league MVP that same year might not be a Panther next season.

However, this speculation contradicts what Bill Voth said in November regarding Newton’s status. It’s also important to note that the verbiage currently being used by Ian Rapoport is only speculative and that he is assuming that Kyle Allen and Will Grier (who still hasn’t played a single down of regular season NFL football) provide enough comfort to warrant Newton’s release.

It’s fair to say that the Panthers would have lost the last five games with Cam at the helm (because he’s hurt), but it’s just as fair to say the Panthers would be undefeated with a healthy Cam at the helm because he hasn’t played a regular season game while completely healthy in over a year. It will be a long time before we hear about any final decisions being made.
