Question 1: Should Panthers give Will Grier a shot?

Carolina is no longer in playoff contention and will probably be trailing Seattle early on in this game. This is the perfect opportunity to give rookie third-round pick Will Grier a shot at quarterback in a regular-season game.

Current starting quarterback Kyle Allen has done a fine job since taking over for the injured Cam Newton. His numbers don’t stand out compared to the elite quarterbacks in the league, but he has played well in a game manager type situation.

The thing is that the Panthers now know what Allen has to offer. He is a fine pro quarterback that is probably best suited for a backup role in the NFL but can step in and win some games when called upon.

Will Grier is much more of an unknown. Grier had a great college career at West Virginia but little is known about his ability to play in the NFL.

Why not give Grier a shot in a meaningful game where the pressure is low?

The Seahawks would be a great first test for the rookie to show what he’s got.
