A new head coach

A new head coach will definitely be exciting for the Carolina Panthers. Although many liked Ron Rivera, my personal opinion is that it was time for a new direction. The head coaching search should be extremely exciting, especially since the Carolina Panthers have not done one since 2011.

A bunch of names have been tossed around as potential head coaching candidates. From Greg Roman to Josh McDaniels to Mike McCarthy, many talented coaches have been slated as potential candidates. I have a feeling that owner David Tepper will take his time with this coaching search. The Panthers as a team are in an extremely tough place right now. They have veterans who want to win now, but they are also trying to rebuild. With many difficult decisions in regards to personnel in the offseason, this is just one of them.

I personally would like an offensive-minded coach, especially since Rivera was defensive-minded. In today’s National Football League, offense is the name of the game. If the Panthers can manage to get a coach focused on offense, that would be ideal. Playoff experience would also be something I would want to see from the next head coach. Whatever the case may be, I’m excited to see who the new candidate is. They will be ushering in a new era of Carolina Panthers football.
