Rhule has been through a rebuild before

This is something I put in my last piece about the coaching hire, but it’s worth repeating. Rhule has been through a rebuild before at the college level. That experience will be able to help him with the Carolina Panthers.

As some of you may recall, Baylor went through a tough situation with the sexual assault scandals under former head coach Art Briles. Rhule was the man who was tasked with picking up the pieces following it. Although they went 1-8 in his first year, the Baylor Bears gradually improved. They recorded a 7-6 record and a win in the Texas Bowl that year. Most recently, Baylor went to the Sugar Bowl in 2018. They recorded an 11-3 mark and finished second in the Big 12. With an 8-1 conference record,  it was remarkable how far they had come in just a matter of three seasons.

This Panthers team isn’t necessarily rebuilding, but they are at a crossroads in regards to where this team is headed. That is similar to a rebuilding process. Rhule has shown that he can excel in difficult situations. This is certainly one of them, which is why I believe he was a great get for the organization moving forward.
