Carolina Panthers: Three positives about Matt Rhule hiring

He is an outside the-box coaching hire

Matt Rhule is a coach that is outside the box so to speak. It would’ve been very easy for the Carolina Panthers to go through the retread of coaches.

It would’ve been easy for the Carolina Panthers to hire Josh McDaniels or some other big coaching name on the market. However, David Tepper stuck with his style. From the time he’s gotten here, he’s always wanted to think outside the box. He’s always hung his hat on new ways to make the team better.

This hire certainly fits Tepper’s style. He said last month that he wasn’t adverse to hiring a coach from the college ranks. Rhule certainly fits that bill. Rhule brings a style of football that Carolina Panthers fans haven’t seen in quite some time. He is going to put his stamp on things, and I believe that will be a good development for Carolina in the long-term. It will be interesting to see how he manages this roster.
