With the announcement that Matt Rhule will be taking over as the new head coach of the Carolina Panthers, the next thing fans have to look forward to is free agency.

Last season the Panthers made some solid moves in free agency. Center Matt Paradis and defensive end Gerald McCoy were the two biggest signings the team made in 2019. At this point in their careers, neither player was a significantly splashy move but they both made positive impacts to the Carolina roster.

With new head coach Matt Rhule in town and owner David Tepper’s despise for mediocrity, expect the Panthers to be more active in free agency this year.

There is no shortage of talented players entering free agency in 2020. Big names like Cowboys’ wide receiver Amari Cooper and Chargers’ running back Melvin Gordon both have played the last season of their current contracts.

While it is unlikely the Panthers will sign either of those two (because wide receiver and running back are not positions they need to improve), it just goes to show the level of talent available this offseason.

Free agency begins at 4 p.m. ET on March 18, so mark your calendars Carolina fans!
