Figuring out finances

Now here is the tricky part because the deals have to be enticing enough to match offers from other teams. However, players also have to consider the prospect of being underpaid for one year so they can really secure their bag later.

Bruce Irvin signed a one-year “prove it” deal with the Panthers, and now that he proved it he’ll have offers coming his way soon. Despite the direction the Panthers are going they may still try to make him an offer (although I wouldn’t blame him for accepting a more lucrative opportunity)

Then there are sponsorship opportunities to take into consideration. Luke and Greg were pretty popular people and both of them attracted enough attention to warrant being the face of other products (McCaffrey isn’t doing too bad for himself either). Companies can survive without the help of the marketing powerhouse that is the NFL, but more often than not a company won’t miss out on a chance to add a boon to their stream of revenue.

As far as the Panthers’ financial department goes, I’d say they’re in pretty good hands with an owner who’s gotten almost everything he’s wanted since he’s taken over. The acquisition of a capologist indicates Tepper’s dedication to continue getting everything he wants, and to make sure his peeps are motivated to help him get what we all want.

Football is a business, but with a successful business-minded person in charge of it all we can be sure that the Panthers will create their own sustainable model of success very soon.
