This suddenly became an area of need for the Panthers. It’s too early to say whether or not the team desperately needs a first-round corner to fill in the role of number one corner, but as a member of the pass-happy NFC South the team will eventually need someone to step up and play like a first-round corner.

Anyone who says Bradberry isn’t above average is only fooling themselves. Since he first started in Carolina he’s taken control of the backfield and he’s done a great job of making every team’s top receiver a non-factor most of the time.

Now that the Panthers need to replace him they’ll need to ask for the same thing from the next one. They’ll need someone who can track the ball and can become a melee fighter at the flip of a switch.

The Panthers have asked a whole lot of the previous second-rounder, and now it’s possible that another second or third-rounder will be asked to come in and be flush with a backfield looking to set a standard for excellence. With free agency also being taken into consideration, the abundance of options for this position in the 2020 draft is encouraging enough for the Panthers to comfortably make a move in the third round and be just fine.
