NFL Draft Approach

More from Cat Crave

From a draft perspective the Panthers are currently walking on eggshells. They seriously messed up decisions four years ago and have been paying for it ever since. If they don’t knock this draft out of the park, then they might be in hot water for the foreseeable future.

Every year there is something that happens – i.e. someone leaves, gets cut, or retires, that warrants the need to draft a player in the same position. No one knows how the losses this offseason will affect the Panthers performance this season or what needs will be warranted next year at this time, so forcing a “need” to draft a quarterback would be the most imprudent route for the team to take.

All Newton needs is a show of commitment and as someone who was recently nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award (winning the popular vote) and has accomplished all he has for the franchise, he certainly has room to say he deserves this commitment from his team.
