Carolina Panthers poised to stack the deck this offseason

Tight End
The decision to pursue a free agent from this group depends on how the Panthers decide to go about filling in their wide receiver corps, but the loss of Greg Olsen definitely warrants some film review of the free agent tight ends. The Panthers need a building to fill in the void, and if they don’t make a point to buy into a taller wide receiver then the need will be even greater.
Eric Ebron and Austin Hooper are two younger and experienced tight ends who can feasibly fill the void. Whether or not the Panthers decide to make a move for either one of them will determine how much draft capital they save and how much more attractive the team becomes to other free agents.
The Panthers don’t really have their backs against the wall for this position because they can get by with the rotation of Chris Manhertz and Ian Thomas, if they can be a little more creative about how they use Alex Armah. However, adding a third solid tight end can help keep the rotation fresh and keep defenses guessing.
