Matt Rhule on the 2020 NFL Draft
Matt Rhule likes what direction the Carolina Panthers are going in heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. The franchise has brought in some talent through free agency and the new head coach is keen to bolster his options further later this month.
After spending time at the helm of Baylor, Rhule knows the college game inside out and this is going to stand him in enormously good stead by the time the Panthers are on the clock.
The evaluation process has been a lot different this year due to social distancing measures. But Rhule is confident the information available is going to be enough to choose the right sort of prospects to aid the team going forward.
"“The tape is information, the Combine was information, the Senior Bowl was information. But also the connections that we have and the time that we’ve spent either facing or coaching a lot of these guys is information as well.”"
Carolina has eight selections later this month, with the draft set to take on a virtual theme thanks to the growing coronavirus concerns across the country. The Panthers are primed to take one of the best defensive players available with the No.7 pick and the class of 2020 is set to be one of the deepest in recent memory.
How the Panthers strengthen during the next few weeks will go a long way to determining whether or not they can be competitive in an ultra-competitive NFC South next season.
