Trishton Jackson – (Syracuse)

Although he may appear modest in size, Trishton Jackson plays much bigger and could be one of the surprise packages to emerge from the 2020 NFL Draft.

His 40-yard dash time at the Combine was 4.5 seconds, which was hardly enough to get any scouts out of their seats. What Jackson does possess on film is a quick burst and a sharp cut to his routes that created constant separation in college with Syracuse.

Jackson went out on a high in 2019. He grabbed 66 balls on his way to 1,023 yards and 11 touchdowns. This was comfortably the best season of his career and the player continued this momentum throughout the evaluation process.

One problem he might have at the next level is getting away from more physical receivers in press coverage. Jackson might be nimble on short and intermediate routes. But he has the tendency to get bullied by cornerbacks that jam him on the line of scrimmage.

It will be up to him to improve his upper body strength and for any NFL team that acquires him to put him in the best possible positions to succeed. Jackson also needs to build a more diverse repertoire if he is going to make a starting spot his own in the coming years.

That being said, there is plenty to like about Jackson’s potential and putting him behind two seasoned pros in D.J Moore and Robby Anderson with the Carolina Panthers would be a huge learning tool to call upon.
