Benny LeMay – RB (Charlotte)

Benny LeMay will be no stranger to the Carolina Panthers’ fanbase following his productive spell at Charlotte. He is projected to be a late-round selection that has some value.

LeMay broke onto the scene in 2018 with the 49ers, gaining 1,228 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns from 232 carries at an average of 5.3 yards per carry. The player continued this level consistency during his final college season to further cement himself as a candidate to make it to the next level.

Despite having more attention thrown his way by opposing defenses, LeMay still managed to attain 1,072 yards from 193 carries. He also reached the end zone on nine occasions and caught 19 balls for 242 yards and four scores.

The prospect moves well between the tackles. But does not possess the sort of pace and burst to become an every-down back in the NFL. What LeMay does have going for him is his balance patience.

This could ensure the hopeful gains a rotational role for an offense with a view to becoming an effective short-yardage runner in the coming years. The Panthers have their stud back in Christian McCaffrey. But if they can keep him out of the firing line on plays that require downhill running situations, the better their chances will be.

LeMay could make an instant impact if given the opportunity with the Panthers. Reggie Bonnafon is the team’s second option and showed little to get excited about in 2019.
