6 linebackers the Panthers could draft in 2020

Jordyn Brooks – (Texas Tech)
Another intriguing linebacker prospect entering the NFL Draft is Texas Tech standout Jordyn Brooks.
The tackling machine enjoyed a prolific four-year college career that saw the player rack up 360 tackles. What he lacks in his ability to cover receivers, Brooks more than makes up for in other areas and this could see the player land as early as the second round.
Brooks is a heavy hitter that excels in the run game. He is quick to the point of attack and uses his body well thanks to his range and football IQ.
His tackling is exceptional, and Brooks plays with a physicality that is going to be a big hit for whatever team lands him later this month. The player also has quality leadership skills and motivates by example on and off the field.
One area of his game that needs significant improvement is the ability to cover intermediate route runners on passing downs. This is something he was not tasked much with during his time in college. But in the pass-happy world of the NFL more will be needed.
If he can make strides in this particular area of his game, then Brooks is a sure-fire NFL starter. Whether that will be during his rookie season or later on is entirely dependant on this. As the other pieces are already there regarding the prospect.
