6 offensive tackles the Panthers could draft in 2020
By Dean Jones
Jedrick Wills Jr. – (Alabama)
Alabama product Jedrick Wills Jr. enjoyed a standout college career with the Crimson Tide that could see him selected in the top 15 picks later this month. He possesses eye-catching blocking ability and ruthless aggression to finish off plays.
Wills’ work rate is absolutely outstanding from the right tackle position. He plays with a fire and determination that sets him apart from most other incoming college recruits.
The player has exceptionally quick feet and maintains his posture well when coping with onrushing defensive ends. Wills matches this with fast hands that can easily adjust to suit any particular method of blocking.
The offensive tackle will need to improve his technique slightly against better players in the NFL. Wills has relied heavily on his strength throughout his time in college and will not get away with this at the next level.
Although he is equally adept in running or passing situations, Wills gave away a lot of penalties and must get better at reading snap counts to avoid further complications down the line.
He is one of the best tackles in the class of 2020 while taking him at No.7 might be a stretch for the Carolina Panthers, the player might become a realistic option if they decide to trade down and accumulate more picks.
There is a real chance the Panthers go in this direction, with the franchise currently in transition and only boasting eight picks currently.
