Darryl Williams – (Mississippi State)

The versatility in Daryl Williams’ play is something that is going to catch the eye of NFL scouts. He has the ability to play anywhere across the middle at either guard position or can fill in at the center spot if required.

Williams possesses a big frame and should really make the most of his upper body strength. If he can become stronger from the point of attack it is going to do his chances of having a successful NFL career the world of good.

He is often in the right place when it comes to his blocking. But his tenacity needs to improve if Williams is going to cope with the more powerful defensive lineman in the pros. The player projects to be a good rotational prospect early on that has the potential to be a starter with more experience.

The Carolina Panthers do not necessarily need someone to come in and be a dominant force right away due to the relatively low expectations surrounding the franchise. What they will need from a mid-round prospect is the willingness to improve and the intangibles that are going to take another leap forward at the next level.

There is plenty to work with regarding Williams. How his athletic ability is harnessed in the next couple of years is going to be crucial for his long-term ambitions.
