Carolina Panthers: Full 7-round 2020 NFL Mock Draft
By John Ellis
The younger brother of Buffalo Bills’ newly acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Trevon is a tall corner with exceptional ball skills as he was converted to a corner after coming to Alabama as a wide receiver.
Diggs had 37 combined tackles, two fumble recoveries, and three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. He has taken to the cornerback position seamlessly and it would be a huge surprise if he wasn’t on the Carolina Panthers’ radar in a position of need.
Jordan Reid of The Draft Network had this to say on Diggs during a scouting report on the player.
"“Battling through plenty of adversity prior to his senior season, it all came together for Trevon Diggs during his final season in Tuscaloosa. As a converted wide receiver, his ball skills are clear in his game, but it’s his length and athleticism that make him very appealing. One of the taller cornerback prospects in this class, he still remains twitchy and shows to have slightly above average technique. With his ball skills, he has the ability to be a frequent turnover generator. Projected as a top-40 pick, if able to bundle all of his traits together, Diggs has the upside to be a reliable starter.”"
